Well and wellhead. Early C19. Cast iron. A large and elaborate openwork
iron trestle with large flywheel on S side with 4 serpertine spokes,
geared to a larger cogged wheel on a shaft across the top of the trestle
with a large flanged winding wheel at its centre. Trestle of moulded
T-section members forming circles and ogee curves. 2 wooden brake shoes
mounded on pivots at upper corners of trestle to brake the flywheel.
