Barn. Early C17. Timber frame on red brick sill in English bond, dark
weatherboarded with a steep thatch roof. A tall 5-bay barn facing S with
central rear outshut opposite the double doors, with small door
adjacent on right. Jowled posts with long straight braces to tie beams
and to central rear outshut. Clasped-purlin roof with raking
queen-strut and thin rafters. Door posts and lintol carried above eaves
with swept roof and ovolo shaped brackets to facing heads of doorposts.
Face-halved bladed scarf joint in rear wallplate.
