TL 4030 HORMEAD HORMEAD DANE
11/90 Little Meadow
House. Circa 1700, 2-storeys C18 rear kitchen, renovated early C19, W
end heightened to 2 storeys in 1950's. Timber frame on high stucco sill,
roughcast with black weatherboarding to E end and Ground Floor of rear
wing. Steep red pantile roof. A 2-storeys, 3-cells plan house facing S
with door a third from E end, and 2 rear wall chimneys. S front has 3
windows to each floor and 6 steps to gabled pantiled porch. 3-light
flush wood casement windows with louvred shutters. 4-panel flush beaded
door. Interior has exposed timbers, chamfered axial beams, squared
joists, open fire and bread oven in kitchen, plank door with old iron
hinges, C18 corner cupboard in parlour with raised and fielded panels,
dentilled cornice and H-hinges. Stair rises opposite entrance. Clasped
purlin roof. Formerly Chapman's Farm. (Jackson (1983)15).
