Nos 13 and 15

Late C18. A pair of tall red brick double-depth semi-detached houses with
parapet all round. 3 storeys with 2 windows each. Parallel hipped slate
roofs with large central chimney bridging valley gutter. Single storey
rear kitchen at E in English bond with lateral stack and monopitch slate
roof. Fine jointed red brick front with gauged brick flat arches to
recessed sash windows 3/6 panes to 2nd floor and 6/6 to 1st floor. Double
shopfront with narrow pilasters flanking doorways at each end, broader
pilaster in centre, with continuous entablature over with scrolled
termination to frieze at each end. 6 panel flush doors. Echinus caps to
pilasters. Modern recessed shopfront (No 13) and brick infill (No 15).
Red stock brick to rear elevation with segmental window arches. Important
in the street scene.
