c.1600 and earlier, exposed post and panel timberframing. Old red tile steep pitched
roofs. Three storeys. High Street front with 2 gable ends jettied at second floor on
carved consoles. Two good first floor canted oriel windows of 12 lights supported by
brackets. Modern shop front with shallow bows flanking door. Central brick chimney
stack of round and square shafts. Long side elevation to Basbow Lane all exposed
timbering, with early C19 brick 3-storey extension at north; sash windows and wooden
lintels.. Interior. 1545 dated pargetted wall in west bay. Some re-used C16 scratch
moulded panelling on ground and first floors. Four centre arch, plastered brick
fireplace in first floor each front room (RCHM (1911) 65).
