Early C19 pair of houses, now one. Painted stucco, felt covered slate roof. Three
storeys. Two symmetrical 3 window units, each with slightly projecting middle bay.
These have panelled doors flanked by square pilasters and entablature over, and first
floor windows with architrave surrounds and shallow pediments on consoles. Broad
pilasters at ends and centre of whole block and continuous architrave beneath eaves.
Old sash windows. Birthplace of Cecil Rhodes on south (5 July 1853). Extensive
modern museum and conference hall additions at rear.
