Barn and adjoining cowhouse and shelter-shed. C17 barn, C18 cowhouse, late C18/early C19 shelter shed. Timber-frames, weatherboarded on brick sills. Steep slate roof to barn, lower pitched slate roof to sheltershed, and steep red tile roof to cowshed. A tall five-bay barn lying north-south with closed gabled porch in middle of west side and double doors opposite. Jowled posts with straight braces to tie beams, staggered mid-height rails and straight tension braces in the walls. Hybrid roof structure with an upper clasped-purlin but a butt jointed lower purlin, staggered in line. Trusses have a high collar and diagonal struts across the lower angles. Face-halved bladed scarf in wall plate. Lower five-bay cowhouse in line to south has unjowled posts, curved braces to tie beams and clasped-purlin roof with angled queen-strut trusses. Large door on east in second bay from south. Low four-
bay shelter shed extending east from south part of barn, with open front to yard on south. Roof hipped at east. Clasped-purlin roof with queen-strut trusses and curved braces to tie beams and to the wall plate from the posts along the open front. East bay enclosed with weatherboarding with a stable type door. A picturesque group of historic farm buildings.
