2/10 Small Barn at
Standon Lodge Farm


Barn, now an implement shed. C17, roof rebuilt in C19, N half
demolished in C20. Timber frame weatherboarded on high C17 red
brick sill. Roof now slated. 2 remaining S bays of high 5 bay
barn facing W with carriageway through centre. S side brick sill
of porch remains. Unjowled posts with long curved braces to tie
beams. Queen strut roof structure. Staggered mid-height rails
in walls. Of special interest for its unusually wide-span
structure. Included for group value.
