GV II

Barn. Early C17, half-hipped N extension C18, roof altered in
C18 and C20. Timber frame dark weatherboarded on low sill
(renewed in concrete at N end) with steep pitched roof formerly
thatched, now of corrugated asbestos. S 4 bays have low-pitched
asbestos roof. A 7-bay barn with 2-bay separate extension on N,
facing E with gabled porch in the middle, in the 5th bay from S
end. Double doors to yard on W opposite porch. Jowled posts
with long curved braces to tie beams. Clasped purlin roof of
light scantling surviving to N of porch bay. Small 2-light
leaded window in N end.
