5/13 Park Cottage

GV II

House. Early C18, S wing replacing outshot c1971. Timber frame
roughcast with original S end wall (now internal) of red brick in
Flemish-bond. S wing plastered to match. Steep old red tile
roofs. 2 storeys house facing W with S crosswing and single
storey gabled C20 extension on N with recessed porch. Originally
a 2-room plan house with large gable chimney on S, and a large
single-storey service room in a lean-to S end. Decorative
corbelling to S side of chimney (now inside) and to kneeler to
former gable parapet. Chimney surmounted by 2 diagonal shafts.
On W front the gabled crosswing projects on the right with a 2-
light casement window over a canted bay. Main range, 2 windows
to 1st floor and a canted bay with French windows on right.
Interior has exposed timbers and original S wall brickwork.
