Barn. Early C17. Timber frame on original red brick sill with
inclined tile pinnings under sill plate. Brick infill between
oak studs. Steep roof now of corrugated iron continued as
catslide over C19 5-bay shelter shed on S side. A 5-bay barn
facing N with double doors in middle bay and small winnowing door
opposite on S. Long jowls to bay-posts, slender straight braces
to tie beams, and straight tension braces at corners and next
door. Queen-strut and collar roof with one butt-purlin to each
slope. Formerly thatched. Heavy knee braces to 2 eastern bays
of open fronted shelter-shed.
