1906-7 by B Parker and R Unwin. Built as "The Skittles Inn", a temperance
inn with living accommodation. Used since 1925 as an Adult Education Centre.
One and a half storeys. North front with 2 large gabled bays. Tiled roofs
with dormers. Walls with exposed studwork and roughcast finish. Mullioned
windows with casements to first floor with glazing bars and leaded light to
ground floor windows. Tile labels to windows. Roof eaves are brought down
over deep verandahs or 'stoeps' with fitted seats. Interesting internal layout
with billiard room with open trussed roof and inglenook. Entrance hall retains
original bar counter designed for the sale of temperance beverages.
