Farmhouse. Early-mid C17, lobby entrance plan. 2 timber frame
bays until extended by 1 bay on right c.1980. Red brick and
flint ground floor. Exposed framing with red brick infill to
upper floor. Machine tile roof. Ridge chimney stack with square
and diagonal set shafts. 2 storeys. Continuous tall plinth.
Original gabled porch with chamfered brick door arch. Rear
elevation has staircase turret on W side with 2 original diamond-
leaded windows. Modern leaded casements throughout. Interior
has inglenook fireplaces either side of ground floor stack.
Chamfer-stopped floor beams. Chamfered brick 1st floor
fireplace. Wide-plank C17 doors with moulded grooves. The
extension bay incorporates framing of C17 barn taken from Ware
and repeats details of original house.
