House, formerly farmhouse. Early C17 front range. Short cross
wing added on rear E side in later C17. Timber frame. C18-19
red brick ground floor. Upper floor plastered. Plain tile roof.
Extensive restoration in late 1920s. S elevation has 3 slightly
projecting bays, their gables jettied on carved consoles and with
original moulded bargeboards and bressumers. Left 2 gables with
2 rows of dentils, right gable with dentilled bressumer. The
upper floor windows are 4 lights with original moulded mullions.
5-light window over modern door. End elevations have
weatherboarded gables jettied on single carved consoles. Beneath
them are 2-light mullioned windows. Restored 2-light casements
to rear elevation. Rear wing has exposed framing, brick infill
and clasped purlin roof. (RCHM Typescript)
