House. Dated 1840 in quatrefoil above entrance porch. Red brick, stone
dressings, tiled roof. Large house with Tudor Revival features. 2
storeys and attic. Entrance to left of centre in large gabled porch with
4 centred arched entrance. Heraldic device in gable. Flanking porch are 4
light mullion and transom casements with glazing bars; decoratively
stopped hood moulds and yellow brick quoining. Moulded string course.
Date stone on first floor flanked by similar windows. Large gabled
dormer over entrance. To right an extruded stack with 2 diagonal shafts
and yellow brick caps. Decoratively cusped lozenges on chimney breast.
Central ridge stack. Right hand return has 2 storey cement rendered
canted bay window with similar windows, friezes of quatrefoils and
lozenges between floors and an embattled parapet. Left hand return has 2
first floor windows; one blocked, the other with 4 lights, each glazed
with a 4 centred arched head. Elaborately corbelled out gable chimney.
All gables have coped parapets and kneelers. Angles are lightly
chamfered. To rear extends a large block under 2 parallel ridges,
similarly fenestrated. Multiple diagonally set shafts to stacks on
return ridges. Further later extensions and attached garden walls.
