House, now two cottages. Late C16/early C17. Extended and altered.
Timber frame, cement pebble dash, tiled roof, large brick axial ridge
stack. Probably originally a through passage open hall with a cross wing
at upper end. House at right angles to road, cross wing on road. Main
front faces S. 2 storeys. 3 bays to main range. 1,2 and 3 light timber
casements throughout; diamond panes to first floor left hand window.
Entrance to left. Main stack to right at junction with projecting gabled
cross wing which has a slightly lower ridge line. Cross wing originally
jettied an at least front and side. Now underbuilt to front. Jettied
side elevation on road with 3 curved timber brackets supporting
overhang. Split flint and brick base. Ground floor entrance. C19 gabled
staircase wing in angle to rear. Weatherboarded and brick 1 storey
lean-to extension with small stack on left return wall. Purlins and wall
plates are visible in gables. Interior not inspected.
