House. Early to mid C17, refronted and extended mid C19. Timber frame
with red brick stacks originally. Gault brick refronting and extensions,
largely rendered. Tiled roof with slate front pitch. 3 bays with
staircase wing to rear. 2 storeys. Central entrance with architrave,
projecting hood on iron colonnettes with decorative brackets. Flanking
and first floor 16 pane sashes in reveals. Panelled and bracketed eaves
soffit. C19 refronting extends to outer planes of originally external
C17 end stacks with offsets, rebuilt caps. To rear of left end stack is
a small first floor window with original chamfered frame. Shallow pitch
to front of ridge, steep pitch to rear with exposed purlins. Staircase
wing projects behind central bay with a sash, steeply pitched roof with
exposed wall plate and purlins. To rear left extends a 3 bay C19 wing
with an entrance, sashes and a ridge stack. Interior: early C18 round
headed doorcase with fluted pilasters reset at end of entrance hall.
Early C17 open well staircase reset in rear wing, square balusters with
lozenge ornament, moulded handrail, ogee headed caps to newel posts with
lozenge ornament, some exposed framing. C20 addition to rear right not
of special interest.
