7/81 Aylwins Farm House
TT
House, once 3 dwellings. C17, refronted and extended early C19, extended
C20. Timber frame, gault brick refronting, part rendered. Hipped tiled
roof. Originally 3 cells with 1 bay to rear forming an L on plan. 2
storeys. 4 window front. Entrance to left with flanking and right hand
8:4 pane sashes and a single casement, ground floor segmental heads,
openings in brick are recessed. Right bay is rendered where brick has
come away. Plat band. Red brick ridge stack to right of centre with C19
oversailing gault brick capping. To rear right an early bay with a lower
ridge, an entrance and a first floor sash, exposed plates to rear.
Attached to rear of this bay is former village lock-up, brick, gable
over a plank door, vaulted internally, now incorporated in a
weatherboarded, pantiled range extending to rear. Left end is rendered.
Attached to rear left a 2 storey C20 range, not of special interest. To
rear centre a C20 lean-to outshut with a C19 stack on main range.
