Stable block to Cokenach House (q.v.).Circa 1716 for R Chester, clock
tower added 1836, extended late C19. Red brick with orange brick
dressings. Steeply pitched hipped tiled roof. Timber tower. 3:3:3
breaking forward to centre. 2 storeys. Plinth. Ground floor: central
round headed opening, gauged brick arch with keystone, sashes with thick
glazing bars, first floor 6 pane casements, all with open moulded
frames, gauged brick flat arched heads. Left bay has a round headed
coach opening, double doors, gauged brick head, similar opening to right
is blocked. Oversailing brick courses to eaves and to central pediment
with clock dated 1896. Central on ridge is a large tower, tilehung lower
stage, cornice to upper stage with louvred boarding, brackets to ogee
roof, small open belfry above with leaded ogee cap and weathervane
finial. Late C19 stock brick addition to left has an entrance with
flanking and first floor small pane casements. To rear: central bay
breaks forward with a round headed door, upper small pane casements,
kneelers to gable parapet. To left ground floor is open with first floor
small pane casements and an external stack. To right a hay loft door
with pulley. Insurance Markers over central openings to front and rear.
