7/89 The Old Post Office


House. Late C17, extended and altered in C19. Timber frame. Panelled
pargetted rendering. Steeply pitched half hipped thatched roof. Brick,
flint and clunch additions with slate and tile roofs. 3 bay main block.
2 storeys. Gable end to road, C19 flush moulded frame margin-pane glazed
sashes, exposed plates. Small first floor casement in right return.
Multiform ridge stack towards front. To left is a C19 former post office
outshut, 1 storey with a panelled door and a 3 light C20 lattice
casement. Similar casements to rear with an entrance in rear bay of main
block. I storey C19 outbuilding to rear, largely clunch with tiled roof.
Interior: some exposed framing, chamfered bearers.
