Pair of houses, at one time 4 dwellings. Early C18, altered C20. Timber
frame. Rendered and weatherboarded. Tiled gambrel roof. 3 bays each. 1
storey and attic. Mansard Cottage to left is weatherboarded over a
cement rendered plinth. 2 windows and 2 architraved doors all grouped to
right of centre, 1 door is part glazed, 2 light small pane flush frame
casements, 3 dormers with raking hoods, 2 of 2 lights, 1 of 4 lights.
Cross axial ridge stack to left of centre. Left gable end is cement
rendered with a door. Central axial ridge stack to Byfields which has
C20 panelled pargetted rendering. Central entrance, half glazed
architraved door, flanking 2 and 3 light small pane flush frame
casements all with hoodboards, two 4 light dormers with raking hoods.
Right end stack, slightly extruded. 2 light casement in right return.
Short wing to rear right with a recessed entrance with a small hood,
gambrel roof with half hip to rear. Lean-to outshut addition to rear
left. Interior: runout chamfered axial bearer, clasped purlin roof,
Byfields not inspected.
