Wisbridge Farm House

GV II


House. Late C16 or early C17, extended later C17 and early C19. Further
extended and altered C20. Timber frame on brick base. Roughcast with
some weatherboarding. Steeply pitched tiled roof. Two 3 bay lobby houses
in series, that to left somewhat later, additions to rear. 1 storey and
attic. Entrances central on each section are both in C20 closed pentice
porches, 6 panelled door to right. Flanking right entrance are 16 and
4:8 pane flush frame sashes, flanking left entrance are 3 light small
pane flush frame casements, all with hoodboards. An additional casement
in early C19 bay to far left. Higher brick plinth to left of left
entrance. 3 box dormers of 3:2:3 lights. Ridge stacks behind entrances,
that to right axial and rebuilt, that to left smaller. Right gable end
Is rendered with a ground floor 16 pane sash, attic 2 and 3 light
casements. Left gable end is weatherboarded with 1, 2 and 3 light
casements. Short early C19 service wing to rear left, weatherboarded,
brick to rear with an external stack with tumbled-in offsets, attic
casements, further lean-to additions. To rear of main range a short C19
brick lean-to with a hipped roof, an entrance with a bracketed hood, a
16 pane sash and a 3 light box dormer. To rear left a C20 gabled wing.
Interior: exposed framing with jowled posts, stop chamfered bearers,
fireplaces have stop chamfered and chamfered lintels. Small C17
staircase with an original knob on newel post.
