9/75 The Cottage Loaf
21.5.77 (formerly listed as
House. Late C18 or early C19, altered to village bakehouse c.1840 and
continued as shop until 1976, altered to house and oven removed 1977.
Cob walls on brick foundations and chimney stacks, roughcast with dark
painted plinth. Steep slate roof, half-hipped, with very wide overhang
at eaves and verges protecting the walls. A 2-storeys, 3 windows wide
building on roadside facing N with gable chimneys in red brick set flush
with the outer gable walls. Roof extends down and catslide over rear
outshut. N front has 3 flush 2-lights small-pane casement windows on
each floor and battened door between 1st and 2nd windows from E end.
