Barn. Late C17, rear aisle late C18. Timber frame on brick sill, dark
weatherboarded. Rear extension red brick. Steep thatched roof but red
tiled rear extension, porch and front lean-tos. A tall 3-bays barn at S
side of farmyard facing S, with gabled projecting porch on S flanked by
lean-to additions, and added rear aisle. 3 doveholes in gable triangle
of porch. Double doors to central porch. Jowled posts, unjowled mid-bay
posts, mid-height rail jointed in-line, straight braces to heavy
tie-beams, one purlin to each slope clasped by collar supported by
inclined straight queen-struts. Face halved bladed scarf joints in
wallplate over posts. Old elm boarding to barn protected by front
lean-to. Wall studs removed to create rear aisle.
