House. Early C17. Timber frame roughcast, red brick ground floor at
front and narrow stair extension at W end. Steep old red tile roofs. A
2-storeys, 3-cells, internal-chimney, lobby-entry plan house facing S
with small 2-storeys gabled rear wing a third from E end. Large chimney
at ridge a third from W end with entrance and gabled porch in line to
front and former winding stair position behind. S front has 3 windows to
each floor - flush casement windows of 3-lights (2-lights to 1st floor
W). Battened door in gabled tiled porch. Interior has axial chamfered
beams (bar stop to middle room), back-to-back open fireplaces to main
chimney. Former unheated parlour at W has C19 external gable chimney and
fireplaces added. Rear wing of 2 bays with external gable chimney and
present stair. Painted plaster on E wall of chamber over middle room
with large panel inscribed 'In the Deity trust/let mee not be ashamed'.
