Barn. Early C17. Timber frame on high red brick sill, dark
weatherboarded, some corrugated sheeting at rear wall; steep pitched
roof now of slate. A tall 7-bay barn facing S with rear aisle surviving
in 3 eastern bays, and central double doorway on S. Step jowled posts,
straight braces to arcade plate, long straight braces to tie-beams.
Clasped-purlin roof with one purlin to each slope, long straight
inclined queen-posts widening to top, and (?) added long straight
wind-braces. Aisle has aisle ties to outer wallplate. Face-halved bladed
scarf joints in arcade plate. Gable trusses have collar with struts
below.
