5/53 Hall Farm Cottage

GV II

House. C17 or earlier. Timber frame on low brick sill, roughcast, with
steep old red tile roofs. A 1½-storeys 2-cells house with entrance into
its S gable end facing the lane. Slightly lower one-bay N extension with
lean-to on its N end, and narrow single-storey small extension on E side
of S room. Large internal chimney and axial beams. Stair up rear wall. S
front has a flush 3-lights cast iron lattice casement window to 1st
floor, one to left of gabled tiled porch with side entrance, and another
to E extension. Central chimney of 3 square shafts each of different
date. 2-lights casement windows two to W side and one to E gable of E
wing. Evidence for side-purlin roof structure.
