TL 12 NE PRESTON CHARLTON

2/77 South-west barn at rear
of yard at Wellhead Farm

GV II

Barn. Late C17. Timber frame on red brick sill, dark weatherboarded with
steep pitched roof formerly thatched now of asbestos sheeting. A tall
4-bays barn facing N with double doors in 2nd bay from W. Jowled posts,
long cranked braces to tie-beams. 2 purlins to each slope, the upper
clasped by a high collar, the lower butt-jointed. Straight wind-braces
to lower purlin at gable ends.
