GV II

Barn. C17. Timber frame on low brick sill, dark weatherboarded with
steep pitched roof now slated. A tall 5-bays barn facing W with central
gabled porch. Jowled posts, long curved braces to cambered tie-beams.
Clasped-purlin roof with one purlin to each slope supported by inclined
straight queen-posts. Strainer between purlins at mid-bay. Mid-height
rails in walls jointed in-line and straight tension braces at corners
and winnowing doors in middle bay above and below mid-height rail.
Face-halved bladed scarf joints over posts.
