Garden building. Early C18. 'MG:1735' carved in brick at rear, for
Mary Gilbert. Sandy red brick in Flemish-bond with darker red dressings
and quoins, Portland stone band, moulded stone steps and landings on 3
cardinal sides. Pyramidal scalloped slate steep roof with pineapple
finial (restored). An octagonal garden building with blind recess at N
and glazed doors on S, E, and W. Reserved faces to angles with moulded
brick round arches to round-headed windows with small-panes sashes and
radial bars in head. Similar door openings, door aligned with lower
sash. Moulded brick offset to low plinth. Plain stone band at sill
level. Moulded stone impost band. Modillioned wooden eaves cornice.
Simple plaster domed interior with cornice at impost level, moulded dado
and skirting, and blind recess on N. Important axial feature in garden
at junction of two alleys.
