Farmhouse. N range 1740-60, parallel S range early C19. N range red
brick in Flemish-bond, S range white brick painted, steep pitched red
tile roofs, the S range a gambrel roof. A tall, 2 storeys, cellar and
attics house facing N over a courtyard of farm buildings at a lower
level. 3 windows wide with end-chimneys projecting and rear stair.
Symmetrical N front with slightly projecting pedimented centre, plinth,
plat-band, and box eaves, with brackets added in early C19 to match S
front. 1st floor has 2 sash windows with 10/10 panes and segmental
arches, and a 2-light casement window over the entrance. Semi-circular
lunette window central to attic. Battened door up 2 steps with flat
moulded hood. 2-light small-pane casement windows to ground floor with
cambered heads. S front 3 windows wide with recessed sash windows of 2/2
panes and flat gauged arches. Paired brackets to eaves cornice. 2 triple
sash windows to ground floor and moulded 4-panels door in middle in a
glazed screen under a lean-to open timber porch. Small window to right
of porch. S range has internal gable fireplaces, stair in entrance hall
replacing older stair of N range. Interior of N range has 2 cross-beams
to each room and central lobby. (RCHM Typescript).
