Stable and gardener's house, now a house and linked outbuildings. 2 C18
brick buildings of similar size, the N one greatly enlarged in early C19
as a secondary residence to Offley Place and linked to the S building
and its attached outhouses. Red brick to S building with steep old red
tile roof. N building similar brickwork to S part but refronted and
continued on E and N by chequered red brick with black headers and
hipped slate roof. The S building is of 1 1/2-storeys facing E with
internal gable chimneys serving the upper floor with gable-end windows.
E front has central blocked doorway, 2 windows with casements, and 2
upper recesses to give the effect of a 2-storeys elevation. Central
round-arched doorway at rear now blocked. Single-storey outbuildings at
S end. Single-storey enclosed link corridor to main house. The N
building is of 2 storeys and cellar, 4 windows long, facing E with
entrance below 2nd window from S. Recessed sash windows with 8/8 panes.
6-panels door and doorcase with open pediment and elaborate fanlight.
Internal gable chimneys at N and S, and large rear NW wing with 3
separate hipped roofs at different levels. On N front a semi-circular
elaborate fanlight above a window formerly a N entrance. The S bay of
the E front range is older with much lower floor levels ignored by
regular refronting. The floor cuts across the ground floor window and
the upper window is a dummy. Entrance into a stone paved hall with stair
at rear. Formerly 2 rooms to N now thrown together. Wide recess in W
wall of N part probably for a buffet. 6-panel moulded doors and
architraves with corner blocks. 2-panel C18 doors in upper part of S
end. Panelled shutters in splayed reveals of windows in C19 part.
