London coal duty marker, erected 1861-2 to mark limit of coal
duty in London area. Cast iron post, painted white. About one
and a half metres high. Square plan with chamfered corners.
Roll-mouldings form capital which has on its front face the arms
of the City of London. Raised lettering on front face of pier:
'24 VICT'. Cast by Henry Grissell iron works, Regents Canal,
London.
