9/223 Large timber framed
barn at Kettlewell's farm.

GV II

Barn. Late C18, incorporating a C17 and C18 lower range on E
side. Timber frame. Weatherboarding. Plain tile roof. Main
barn is 5 bays, double purlin roof, the upper purlins with
collars, lower ones with diagonal braces from ties. Gabled cart
entrance on N side, flanked by contemporary lean-tos. At E end
the barn has a C17 red brick plinth which continues beneath part
of an adjoining 3-bay range, the end bay probably built as a 2-
storey granary. Further C19 small addition. (See also ST
