House, built as a farmhouse of two units, one at right angles to
the other forming a T plan. Late medieval origin to the front
range. Rear range is earlier C17. Late C19 addition to left
front. Exposed timber frame with red brick infill. Rear wing is
plastered. Plain tile roofs. 2 storeys. The front has 4 sash
windows, the 3 on right early-mid C19, with wide flush wood
frames. 6-fielded panel door with canopy on consoles. Extension
on left is red brick with 1 recessed sash and a ground floor
square sash bay. Long rear range has, on the S side, 4 small
casements, and on the E side 3 sash windows and 1 casement. Dark
red brick ridge stack with 4 square shafts; interior with heavy
exposed beams. Inside the front range the bay next to the
extension appears to have been an open hall; collar purlin of
crown post roof visible; Wealden framing to rear wall. The 2
bays on right have clasped purlin roof with slightly curved wind
braces, the ground floor with chamfered beams. Rear centre of
the interior has a mid C17 staircase with slat balusters.
