12/342 Searches Farmhouse



Farmhouse. C15-16 cruck frame, altered C16-C17. Late C18 red
brick casing. Mid C19 separate extension on S side. Plain tile
roof. 2 storeys. Early part has 5 1st floor glazing bar
casements, the ground floor with 2 recent bow windows and a
central gabled porch, the door changed to a window. Central
early C17 chimney stack with 3 red brick shafts. Interior has 2
cruck frames, the S one with stack attached, the N one next to a
C15/16 2-storey bay. Chamfer-stopped beams to bays either side
of stack. The front has a sundial dated 1728. The S extension
is in brown stock with red brick lintels; 2 recessed sash
windows. 2-panel door with simple hood.
