6/407 Down Green House

II

House. C17 timber frame. Early-mid C19 casing with diagonal
combed pargetting. Plain tile roof. C19 gable end on E, the W
side with a C18 rear wing. 2 storeys. 3:1 cast iron casements,
those of early part 2-light in pegged wood frames. Broad ridge
stack over door in C18 brick. Internally the stack was cut
through to form a passage in early C20. 1 bay each side with
exposed chamfered beams. C18 bay has flush beam and joists for
plaster ceilings. (RCHM Typescript).
