House. Late C16 to early C17, extended early C18. Timber frame, extended
and part cased in brick. Some rendering and tilehanging. Tiled roof.
Originally 2 bays. 1 storey and attic. Entrance to right of centre. C20
leaded light casements. Exposed framing. Plinth. C19 stack attached to
front to right of entrance. Brick casing to ground floor on returns and
to rear. Right return rendered and tilehung with small bay window
addition. Exposed framing to rear, on left return and where roof abuts
onto C18 rear parlour wing which projects to left. 2 storeys. 2 and 3
light C20 casements. Segmental heads. Plat band. Moulded eaves soffit.
Hipped roof. Large external stack with offsets to one side to left
return. Interior not inspected. (RCHM Typescript: Hertfordshire
