House. C16. Extended C19. Refronted C20. Timber frame. Rendered brick
casing. Tiled roof. 2 bays of originally longer hall house. 2 storeys. 4
window front. Central entrance. Glazing bar sashes. Moulded surrounds
to openings all with vermiculated keys. Stone coped parapet. Roof hipped
to left. Stack to right rebuilt as C17 original with 2 joined diagonal
shafts on front pitch and 1 behind. Left end stack. Extended to rear: 2
separately roofed ranges at right angles to hall. Glazing bar sashes.
Entrance to rear right. Hips to rear. Interior: arched braced collar
truss, ovolo moulded ceiling beams (Pevsner 1977: Herts Archaeology,
vol.4, p.165).
