Former Public House, now house. Early to mid C18,altered and extended
mid C19 and c.1900. Brick, pebbledash. Slate and tile mansard roof. 2
storeys and attic, 3 windows. Entrance to left with rectangular fanlight
and flanking ground floor bay windows. False central entrance. Ground
floor right and first floor sashes. Timber cornice. 2 dormers. Left end
stack and larger stack to rear right. Rectangular bay extension of
c.1900 on left end. Canted bay on right end. To rear right a wing with a
hipped roof. Interior: some original timbers in kitchen and cellars
where there is also a well. Stable and brewery outbuildings together
with house retain open courtyard arrangement of coaching inn.
