55 metres north-east of
Manor Farmhouse

GV II

Ice-house. Early C19. Entrance front and chamber of re-used medieval
ironstone and limestone ashlar and rubble, the chamber covered by an earthen
mound. Truncated oval in plan, with entrance facade to south. Low doorway
beneath C20 replacement timber lintel in roughly-coursed stone wall;
voussoired inner arch. Barrel-vaulted chamber approximately 6 metres long,
3 metres wide and 2.5 metres high. Blocked door to north with voussoired
segmental arch. The whole structure contained in an earth mound
approximately 10 metres by 10 metres and up to 3 metres higher than
surrounding ground level.
