House.' C17, encased in late C18-C19, with contemporary wing to left and
later C19 outshuts to rear. C20 re-thatching and internal alterations.
Timber frame encased in brick, with brick additions, whitewashed throughout.
Thatched roof to main range with Welsh slates to angle with wing; pantiles
to wing and outshuts. L-shaped on plan: main 3-room range with 3 main bays
of timber frame (probably with intermediate wall-posts), stairs beside stack
to left; 2-room wing to front left; rear outshuts to main range and wing.
Main range: single storey with attic, 3 windows. C20 door to right of
centre beneath projecting porch with hipped thatched roof supported on pair
of timber posts. 3-light sliding sashes with glazing bars to either side,
12-pane sliding sash to left. Central dormer with weatherboarded gable over
3-light sliding sash. Half-hipped roof with ornate ridge capping. Axial
stack. Attic 3-light sliding sashes to left and right returns. Padstones
visible to rear right angle. Low 2-storey wing to left: recessed panelled
door and three 12-pane sliding sashes, all except one under segmental
arches. Central first floor ventilation hatch. Stepped and dentilled brick
eaves cornice. Brick coped and tumbled gables. End stack to right. Left
gable end has C19-C20 brick steps to original first floor board door.
Interior. Wall plates, tie-beams and some repaired wall posts visible.
First floor supported on chamfered spine beams and side-rails carried on
brackets nailed to wall posts.
