TA 04 NW
3/18 Scorborough Hall

House. Early-mid C18, with late C18 additions. Red brick, slate and
pantile roofs, stone dressings. Main range of single storey and attics,
3½ bays, with later 2-storey 3-bay range to rear under double-span roof.
4-panel door with overlight with glazing bar in pilastered doorcase with
shaped brackets to hood; glazed C20 garden door to extreme left. 3 late C18
canted bays with sashes with glazing bars under low pedimented gables.
Axial stacks, coped gables on shaped kneelers. The interior has been
largely remodelled in the late C19 but does retain a ground-floor room with
pairs of heavy, crossing, primary joists and a corner fireplace to a first-
floor bedroom. It is probable that the present building encloses fragments
of an older structure. The site is moated.
