House with gates and railings. c1780 for Michael Metcalfe; later alterations. Red brick, slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Central door of 6 panels under fanlight with radial Gothick glazing in Ionic porch. To right, two C19 sashes in original openings with channelled wedge lintels, to left a C19 square bay. First floor: 5 sashes with glazing bars under channelled wedge lintels. End stacks, hipped roof with C20 dormer. Square rusticated gate piers with cornices but lacking finials. Low coped limestone wall bearing C18 railings, with urn finials to standards; C19 cast-iron gates with ramped tops.
