Garden walls. c 1770. Red brick, stone dressings. Originally an
approximately square enclosure with a central dividing wall: however the
street frontage wall has been removed to allow C20 housing. A high wall
with stone coping regularly punctuated by piers with ball finials. In the
wall of the southern end of the garden of No 197 is a pair of brick gate piers
c1770 or earlier about 15 feet high, supporting a fine contemporary wrought
iron gate.
