Pair of houses. Mid C19 with C20 alterations. Painted concrete with part
concrete tile and part Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys plus attics, each house
2 bays, No 45 with 2 storey, 2 bay addition to right of no special interest.
Facades mirrored, each house with outer bays recessed and inner bays gabled.
Each has plank door to outer bay and 3-light casement window with latticed
glazing to inner bay. Above each bay has a similar 2-light window. Above
the central bays small single light lattice glazed windows. All openings
with moulded hood moulds, windows with projecting sills. Plain barge boards
to central gables with ridge finials. Overhanging eaves elsewhere. Concrete
tiles to No 43, slates to No 45. Central concrete stack between the houses.
Listed for historical significance as early examples of concrete housing.
