House, and stables now incorporated into the house. 1886 in late Gothick
style. Stucco with leaded roof. Main block of 2 storeys, square in plan
with advanced 2 storey central part to main front flanked by similar height
octagonal corner towers. To rear single storey section with smaller octagonal
corner towers. Main front has stone steps to central moulded segmental
doorcase with decorated spandrels and returned hood mould. Glazed panelled
door with enclosed porch. Immediately to either side of porch thin lancets
and beyond to other side segmental arched sashes. Towers have similar smaller
windows. Continuous sill stringcourse. Porch has stringcourse with stepped
central panel above the door, and 2 shields above again. First floor sill
stringcourse. First floor with similar windows as those below except for
small segmental headed sashes above the door. Eaves stringcourse to porch
with stepped, castellated parapets above with central porch dated '1886'.
Side bays with large bracketed cornice and castellated parapets. Towers
with similar arrangement set higher above mock cross arrow windows. All
windows with returned hood moulds. Other elevations with similar windows
and parapets. Corniced and castellated stacks to rear wall of main blcok
and rear block. Corbelled turrets of similar design to rear corners of
main block. Interior has original Tudor style staircase with richly decorated
newel posts. Doorcases to ground floor with colonetted jambs and castellated
cornices. Ceiling with plaster-work panels. See Victoria County History.
