5/10 Ivy Lodge Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Dated 1854, for Robert Garlick. Red brick to front, brown brick
to sides; ashlar dressings, Welsh slate roof. Double-depth plan, with 2-
room central entrance-hall north front. 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical.
Step to painted ashlar Tuscan porch with attached columns carrying
entablature and pediment; 2-fold panelled door and 2-pane overlight with
margin lights in panelled soffit and reveal. 12-pane sashes in architraves
and reveals with projecting sills and channelled and keyed cambered wedge
lintels. Cellar window to right with similar lintel. Hipped roof.
Corniced end stacks. Similar windows to left and right elevations, latter
has a 6-fielded-panel door and a panelled door and overlight beneath similar
lintels, and datestone inscribed: R H G
1854
Interior. Open well staircase with moulded ramped handrail, slender turned
balusters and newel, moulded cornices and ceiling roses to hall and main
rooms.
