5/34 The Fernery Farmhouse
Farmhouse. Late C18 with mid-late C19 alterations. Brick, rendered to left
return. Welsh slate roof. L-shaped on plan: 2-room central entrance-hall
north front with kitchen wing to rear right. 2 storeys, 3 bays;
symmetrical. Original 6-fielded-panel door beneath cornice and overlight
with radial glazing bars in reveal; C19 doorcase with ornate consoles
supporting cornice and hood. C19 4-pane sashes in original flush wooden
architraves with sills and painted rubbed-brick flat arches. Plain wooden
eaves boards. Stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. C20 rebuilt
corniced end stacks. Interior not investigated.
