House, now shop. Late C17 - early C18 with later additions and late C19 -
early C20 shop fronts. Brick, rendered. Pantile roof. Plan: originally
1-shaped, with 2-room central lobby-entry and single-room wing to rear
right; later single-room addition at an angle on street corner to left,
extension to inner angle, and wings to rear; ground floor front now single
room. Shop front to left angle has recessed glazed door flanked by 2-light
plate-glass windows in wood surround with columns and cusped heads, plain
frieze, carved consoles and hood. Original entrance to right has half-
glazed panelled door in C19 panelled surround with frieze and cornice.
Single shop window to right in plain wood surround. First floor: plate-
glass windows in flush wooden architraves with sills and timber lintels.
Moulded wooden eaves cornice, somewhat damaged. Roof hipped to right.
Cross-plan axial stack. Interior contains spine beams to ground floor
supported on cast-iron columns; not fully investigated. Adjoining 3-storey
range to left is not of special interest.
